Taiwan to build 104 large attack drones

104 Jiangxiang loitering munitions should be produced by Taiwanese industry by 2025, said Chi Liping, head of the air navigation systems research division of the Zhongshan Institute of Science and Technology, Taiwan News reported on November 21.

Chi Lipin, demonstrating the drone, said that it has a flight range of 1,000 kilometers and a speed of 500-600 km/h in the dive phase on the target. The device was introduced in 2019.

It has two versions: an impact anti-radar apparatus and a false target for opening the enemy’s radar system. They can stay in the air for up to five hours.

The devices can be used against modern radars of the People’s Liberation Army of China, located on the coast, inland and at sea.

The device does not need a runway. They are transported in containers of 12 pieces.

“Jianxiang” resemble Iranian devices Shahed 136, journalists write. Another analogue of them are the American Switchblade. These devices showed their high efficiency during the military special operation in Ukraine.

Recall that unmanned aerial vehicles have become an important type of weapon during the Russian military special operation in the Donbass. With their help, the battlefield is monitored for operations. Drones are also used to strike at the enemy and sabotage.
